Hello Everyone,
So here we are stepping into fall and into the final push of home sales before we hit the skids for the Holiday Season. I can definitely see that there are more homes for sale and definitely a much slower pace in activity with buyers. Of course, sellers are asking why….is it the interest rates? I don’t think so because the interest rates were about the same last year and the market was frenetic. This year there has been a lot of unprecedented changes with our government and people are more nervous about the economy and people don’t like making major financial decisions when things are uncertain…..so here we are.
Still there are buyers out there looking for great houses and great houses are still selling quite well. Here’s my list to keep you busy this weekend!
1920 Maiden Ln. Altadena
$1,888,000 4bd & 3ba 1,837 sq.ft 8,837 lot
Open Saturday & Sunday, 2-4 pm
This home was purchased right after the fire and flipped by my favorite flipper in town….Current design. Jerry & his partner Nancy know how to design a home…..they pick wonderful combinations of finishes that are creative but still appeal to a broad spectrum of buyers. I love the great room feel as you enter the room and even though it doesn’t flow directly to the backyard it still feels open because down the end of the hallway is a glass door that opens right onto the backyard. I wish the garage was in the corner of the yard instead of right behind the house, but you still have a very nice access to the landscaped area. Under normal circumstances this house would have flown off the shelf, but given the fact that it is in the burn zone…..I’m not too sure….we’ll see!
1148 Cordova Ave. Glendale
$1,749,000 3bd & 2ba 1,834 sq.ft 7,551 lot
Open Saturday & Sunday, 2-5 pm
I love how the Rossmoyne neighborhood of Glendale has such a high concentration of beautiful Spanish style homes! This one just came on the market and looks very nice! It is quite authentic looking with the beamed ceilings, stained wood windows and doors and that exceptional Batchelder fireplace. You can tell the kitchen and baths were done a while back, but still very tasteful and period to the home. The yard is not very large, but they made the most of the space!
3408 Las Palmas Ave. Glendale
$1,595,000 3bd & 2ba 1,774 sq.ft 6,500 lot
Open Saturday & Sunday, 2-4 pm
Montrose is always such a popular neighborhood! It is one of the few residential neighborhoods in the foothills that is actually walkable to a cute commercial area. Plus you get streets lined with character homes and the great schools of La Crescenta! It is also a very small area, so needless to say when a home comes on the market it gets a lot of attention. This one just came on the market and looks quite cute. You can see that it has been tastefully remodeled throughout and I like that the kitchen opens out to the backyard. This is definitely worth going out of your way to see this weekend!
2353 Loma Vista St. Pasadena
$1,475,000 3bd & 2ba 1,550 sq.ft 7,261 lot
Open Saturday 1-3 pm & Sunday 2-4 pm
Here is yet another lovely traditional style home in Pasadena this week! I especially like the wood siding and wood frame windows…..I’m a sucker for wood frame windows. So before the addition the dining room opened up to the backyard and now they opened the kitchen up to the dining and added a family room, which created a very nice open flow. They did a nice job with the upgrades over all, but the things I didn’t like is that the main bathroom is a little small and has no window and that they used gray wood looking luxury vinyl in the back part of the house. Other than that…..great house!
