MY FAVORITE HOMES OF THE WEEK… NOVEMBER 1, 2024

Hello Everyone!

Well there was hardly anything to see this week so it looks like we are hitting the Holiday downturn a bit early! Also I have been commiserating with other agents and seems like a lot of buyers are just kind of hovering right now….the elections I guess. Although, I have never seen the market change one way or another based on who won an election. Still people don’t like to make big moves when there is any kind of uncertainty in the air!

If you are looking despite everyone’s apprehension right now, then swing by some of these lovely homes this weekend!

430 S Berkeley Ave. Pasadena

$2,400,000 4bd & 3ba 2,942 sq.ft 7,561 lot

Open Saturday & Sunday, 1-4pm

This one just hit the market and looks like a very nice Spanish indeed! I absolutely love all of it’s original charm and the fact that the owners did not over modernize the home when they made their improvements! It has the original wood frame windows, hardwood flooring and beamed ceilings. I really appreciate that the kitchen uses all those lovely warm tones with the wood cabinetry, satillo tile flooring and decorative back splash. You have to appreciate all the light fixtures! I don’t know if they are original, but they are definitely from that time period! Treat yourself this weekend and swing by this open house!

450 Cherry Dr. Pasadena

$1,895,000 3bd & 2ba 1,917 sq.ft 6,729 lot

Open Saturday & Sunday, 2-4pm

I ran out of time yesterday and did not get a chance to see this one, but I remember it from a few years back and it is a lovely Spanish home! It was nice then, but I really like the upgrades that these new owners have made. The kitchen still has those striking blue cabinets but i like how they made it much more dramatic with that back splash! The bathrooms were fairly original and I like how they have been remodeled. This is a hilly neighborhood, so there isn’t a lot of running around room in the yard, but it has been beautifully landscaped.

1343 Rubio St. Altadena

$1,875,000 3bd & 2ba 2,163 sq.ft 20,023 lot

Open Saturday & Sunday, 10-1pm

The setting of this home is just lovely! Here you are right up against the foothills with a magnificent view of the mountains on a 1/2 acre of lushly landscaped land! The living areas are a nice open space with the living room off to the left of the entry and a big kitchen that opens to the family room on one side and the dining area on the other side. It is a very comfortable flow that opens to the covered patio and backyard.. Off the hallway you have what used to be 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, but they combined the last 2 bedrooms to create one large bedroom. I would take the back half of the room and make it a primary bath & walk-in closet. The garage is attached to the family room, but it has been converted into one big room. Personally I would turn it back into a garage and take the carport area and turn it into a guest house! Still a nice price for 1/2 an acre!

517 Castano Ave. Pasadena

$1,349,000 3bd & 3ba 1,679 sq.ft 6,804 lot

Open Saturday & Sunday, 11-2pm

So somehow I missed this one completely, but it seems well priced for the size and location and I love that kitchen! You know I like mid-century and I love the walnut cabinetry with those sculpted handles and that tile that feels like a reverse bevel! So cool. In all honesty probably too cool for such a traditional home…..but I like it! I also like that the dining room opens to the backyard so that you have a nice open flow out to that expansive patio!

1401 N Holliston Ave. Pasadena

$1,295,000 2bd & 2ba 1,910 sq.ft 12,403 lot

Open Saturday & Sunday, 2-4pm

I think this was my Favorite….Favorite House! It is a light and bright English with my favorite floor plan for a character home! The living room, dining room and kitchen are all in a row with the kitchen facing the backyard…..pretty open for a 20s home! I love all the plaster molding details in the living & dining room and there are just so many windows! Because the lot is such a nice size you have a large side yard right off the dining room and it makes for some interesting add-on potential! There are only 2 bedrooms downstairs, but I would continue the hallway through the laundry room and add the master behind the kitchen and you can still add a family room off the kitchen into the side yard. If you go….let me know what you think of that idea?

1409 N El Molino Ave. Pasadena

$998,000 2bd & 1ba 1,024 sq.ft 4,749 lot

Not open but I can get you in….just call!

This cute little bungalow has great curb appeal! Unfortunately it has been over modernized and has lost it’s charm on the inside, but it is still a good house with a nice flow that has been remodeled throughout! There aren’t a lot of options in this price point, so definitely worth seeing if you are on a budget. Sorry I still can’t believe that a million dollars is being on a budget :/

That’s it for this week!
