Hello Everyone, I love the first rain of the season! I always just want to hunker down with some tea and a good movie! Luckily it wasn’t raining on Thursday so I headed out to see some homes. There actually was very little to see, which is not surprising the week before Thanksgiving, but still there were some nice options to consider. If you are okay with heading out in the rain you could buy something this weekend and be in your new home before Christmas! 2494 Glen Canyon Rd. Altadena $3,495,000 4bd & 4.5ba 4,290 sq.ft 14,238 lot Open Saturday 2-4 pm & Sunday 1-4 pm This home has a lot of nice architectural detailing with grand formal rooms and elegant upgrades! I like the overall floor plan of the home and I really love that sexy sunroom off the living room that flows out to a nice entertaining area. I still think it’s priced a bit high considering the yard is not very large. The home sits on the corner so the garage is on the other side, but then you have to cross the driveway to get to the pool area….it’s a bit disjointed. I’m thinking it should go for under $3 million, but it is a pretty home and worth seeing if you are out and about this weekend. 1661 Las Lunas St. Pasadena $1,998,000 4bd & 2ba 2,432 sq.ft 9,003 lot Open Sunday 1-4 pm I love a good Craftsman and this has all the warm wood detailing you expect to see! I love the fireplace tile….I actually don’t think it’s original which makes it that much more impressive! The kitchen is dated, but a very nice size and flows out to the yard which is hard to find in a character home! The bedroom layout is very comfortable and again the baths need a refresh, but overall a great home with a beautiful yard and pool! As a bonus, the garage was built about 25 years ago and they built a 600 sq.ft bonus room upstairs that would make a wonderful guest house! 1202 E Lexington St. Pasadena $1,349,000 3bd & 2ba 1,837 sq.ft 8,260 lot Open Saturday & Sunday, 2-4 pm I was super excited about this house for personal reasons! We were working on the design for rebuilding my daughter’s main house because it was a boring ranch and the layout wasn’t great. We landed on a Bungalow style to add some charm and a floor plan where the dining opened out to the yard. My main concern was that we didn’t have enough square footage to have all 3 bedrooms off the main hallway…..so the primary suite is going to come off the dining room. Also, I always wonder how the layout will feel in real life vs. on paper. This house has the exact same floor plan we designed and I think it works very well considering our limitations! I’m so relieved! This home has been nicely remodeled throughout and the garage was converted into a studio apartment. That space has not been remodeled, but it’s clean and very usable. I’m just not sure if it’s permitted. 16 Oak Knoll Gardens Dr. Pasadena $1,250,000 2bd & 2ba 1,097 sq.ft 4,621 lot Open Saturday & Sunday, 1-4 pm This little enclave of cottages sits right off El Molino and they are the cheapest way to get your foot in the door in Madison Heights. They are darling condo alternatives! I love how the front porch spans across the house……that’s where I would spend most of my time! The big windows let tons of light into the living room and the dining room is so special….with that big bay window, built-ins and french doors that flow out to the lush and private back patio. The bath has been updated though it could use a breath of fresh air and the kitchen definitely needs a makeover, but still if you want a special little home in a special little neighborhood…..don’t miss this one! 2772 Glen Ave. Altadena $649,000 3bd & 2ba 1,424 sq.ft 7,507 lot Open Saturday & Sunday, 2-4 pm So this one is truly priced for a fire sale! This home is surrounded by burnt out properties and the garage was lost in the fire, but the home made it through. It is priced not much higher than land value so I’m assuming she expects quite a few offers on this! I am definitely curious to see how much it sells for, because a home nearby with similar circumstances came on soon after the fire and it sold for over $900k. I’m curious to see what she ends up getting for this one!
