MY FAVORITE HOMES OF THE WEEK... MAY 1, 2026 (2)

Hello Everyone,

Today I have some exciting news! Last month a home that I have always admired was offered to me. At first I didn’t even think of it as a possibility because I didn’t think my husband would like it. However, he loved it and so we decided to buy it! It’s so strange because I have so many mixed emotions.

I’m excited because I love the home, but I also feel guilty because I see so many fire survivors going through open house after open house looking for that home that they can fall in love with rather than having to rebuild and here I am not even looking ..in fact we are 3 weeks away from getting permits to rebuild….and then this home falls in my lap! A part of me is also sad, because I feel like I’m losing that bond I’ve developed with other survivors that are rebuilding!

But I am still in Altadena and I am still very much involved with rebuilding. My son lost his garage and my daughter lost everything and since they are both out of the area, my husband and I are in charge of both rebuilds. So please feel free to reach out if you need any help during your rebuilding process!

1495 Coolidge Ave. Pasadena

$1,150,000 2bd & 1ba 1,100 sq.ft 6,999 lot

Open Saturday & Sunday 2-4 pm

Talk about charming…..this house definitely is all that! I love all the wood details with the large bay window in the living room and I love how the dining room flows out to the backyard! When you look out you have that adorable little cottage in the back as a focal point surrounded by serene landscaping! It makes for a great office which is so important in a 2 -bed home. They also finished the garage very nicely so that it can be used as a work space or a garage. Those beautiful doors still work just fine! Come visit me this weekend!

1108 E Mariposa St. Altadena

$2,049,000 3bd & 3ba 2,497 sq.ft 5,911 lot

Open Sunday 1-4 pm

So this is one of the new builds after the fire. I think it’s a good representation of what we want to see in our Spanish replications. Don’t get me wrong, it will in no way replace the 20s Spanish architecture we lost, but it’s decent for a new build. It looks like they used higher end finishes and of course features an open layout. I think the most limiting factor is the tiny yard so we’ll see how well it does.

1242 N Isabel St. Glendale

$1,995,000 4bd & 3ba 3,050 sq.ft 6,772 lot

Open Saturday & Sunday, 2-5 pm

Being raised in California you don’t see a lot of brick homes and I’m a sucker for a brick front home! This English home is a very nice value. With over 3000 sq.ft it has grand rooms and rich wood work throughout…it has amazing bones. I love…love…love that yellow and purple art deco bathroom! I pray whoever buys it…..keeps it just that way! The kitchen has been tastefully remodeled and so has the primary bath. The landscaping could use a refresh, but there’s a good space to work with.

2004 Glenview Ter. Altadena

$1,799,000 2bd & 2ba 1,457 sq.ft 18,248 lot

Open Saturday & Sunday, 2-4 pm

At first glance it feels like too much money for a 1437 sq.ft house, but OH MY GOODNESS….that lot is amazing! The pictures just don’t do it justice! It is easily the nicest back yard I have ever seen. The house is nice and very well done and you are on ½ an acre in the estate area so you could add-on to your heart’s content because you won’t be overbuilding for the neighborhood! If you want a free garden tour, don’t miss this open house!

1646 San Gabriel Ave. Glendale

$1,795,000 4bd & 3ba 2,257 sq.ft 6,634 lot

Open Saturday 2-4 pm

I don’t know what’s going on, but there seems to be a lot of homes coming up in the Verdugo Woodlands neighborhood of Glendale….and mostly Spanishes….which I love. I love the front courtyard and the coved ceiling with the wood beams, as well as the Batchelder fireplace in the living room. I appreciate how nicely they rearranged the kitchen and dining room to create a great room feel and that they used stained cabinetry to mimic the period style of the home. I would probably change up the counters and backsplash, but that’s easy compared to all the work they did on the space. I do wish that they opened the kitchen to the backyard rather than forcing people through the laundry room to get outside. The bathrooms feel more dated and could use a refresh and of course I wish all 3 bedrooms were upstairs, but that’s so typical of Spanishes in this area.

733 N Mar Vista Ave. Pasadena

$1,600,000 3bd & 2ba 1,632 sq.ft 9,184 lot

Open Saturday 1-4 pm & Sunday 1-3 pm

Bungalow Heaven is the hottest neighborhood in North Pasadena! Everything decent seems to sell for $1000 to $1100 per square foot and sometimes more! And to think that when I started in this business, you wanted to be east of Hill St. and you could buy a cute home around 1400sq.ft for like $275,000 while Bungalow Heaven would have something similar priced at $180,000. Those were the days! But I digress….I love that every owner appreciated the style of this home and didn’t try to destroy it by painting over all that beautiful woodwork! I can see that the kitchen and one of the bathrooms have been redone, but there is no picture of the 2nd bathroom. I’m guessing it’s not a great bath….maybe downstairs and tiny. Still I recommend checking it out if you want to be in Bungalow Heaven!

408 Alameda St. Altadena

$1,549,000 4bd & 2.5ba 2,007 sq.ft 12,520 lot

Open Saturday & Sunday 2-4 pm

This house looks so cute with the rotunda style front porch and original siding. Bungalows don’t have as much architectural detailing as a craftsman….they are more simple. Still I love the wood flooring and how they opened the kitchen up to the dining space and adding that wood beam is a nice touch. It has been tastefully remodeled throughout…..though I kind of wish they didn’t use the same finishes in both bathrooms and the same color on all the cabinetry. Still nicely done and that yard looks amazing! Though I do have to say that Alameda is not my favorite street.

530 E Jackson St. Pasadena

$1,200,000 3bd & 2ba 1,578 sq.ft 9,114 lot

Open Saturday 11-1 pm

This home seems very well priced for the size. Jackson is a lovely street in a historical neighborhood between El Molino & Los Robles. Some of the biggest houses in this neighborhood are on Jackson and around the corner on Oakland & Madison which dead end into Jackson. This cute bungalow doesn’t have a lot of architectural detailing, but the owners did a nice job renovating the home and adding some charming details. It’s a nice sized lot….plus you have that little guest studio as a bonus! Definitely worth seeing, but remember it should probably sell for more like $1.4 to $1.5.

1961 Queensberry Rd. Pasadena

$1,125,000 3bd & 1ba 1,031 sq.ft 6,521 lot

Open Saturday & Sunday, 2-4 pm

This little Spanish just hit the market and I’m sure that everyone looking at my Coolidge will also take a peek at this one! It looks like a cute little Spanish with a vintage feel and nice backyard! It doesn’t look like it has a natural open flow to the back yard but, while I’m at Coolidge open house, you know I’ll be asking how we compare!
