Hello Everyone, So I have 2 excuses for not sending out my blog these past few weeks..1) We are in the throes of all the finish design details of my daughter’s rebuild and since I’m in charge of that it has been a little distracting. 2) There haven't been very many nice homes to report back about when I went on caravan these last 2 weeks. This week there were quite a few nice things to talk about so I’m back! 980 Mesa Verde Rd. Pasadena $3,250,000 4bd & 3.5ba 2,876 sq.ft 10,010 lot Open Saturday & Sunday 11- 1 pm I loved this house…..a mid-century modern that sits high enough off the back elevation of the home that you are looking at tree tops through all the windows! It’s got that tree house vibe where you feel like you’re on vacation somewhere far far away! It has the beamed ceilings and wood paneling and expansive glass you want to see in a mid-century. The owners did a great job remodeling the home throughout ….at least I liked it! The only downfall is that even though the primary is a great space, the other 2 bedrooms are quite small. Still it’s a treat to see! 371 Rosita Ln. Pasadena $2,749,000 4bd & 3.5ba 2,425 sq.ft 11,640 lot No scheduled open houses. Please contact me for a private showing! How about a classic Cape Cod in the San Rafael neighborhood. This home has classic traditional detailing with the original floorplan featuring a formal living room and dining room that looks out onto the backyard. At some point they made a family room addition off the living room which is quite common with this layout. The kitchen has been opened up a bit to the dining room and it has been tweaked for sale, but I’m not a big fan of that particular shade of green. Eventually you would want to remodel the whole thing because this house deserves a better kitchen. Upstairs you have 3 bedrooms and 2 baths including a primary suite. Now I wish the landing at the top of the stairs was more expansive, but typical for a Cape Cod this space is tight. The backyard however is not tight at all! It is a beautiful space with lush gardens and a pool. 1206 E Mendocino St. Altadena $2,495,000 4bd & 4ba 2,719 sq.ft 19,206 lot Open Saturday & Sunday 2-5 pm So these home sales make me the saddest! This family never returned after the fire, because they hadn’t lived here long enough to feel that sense of attachment and have decided to move back to the West Side. Unfortunately, this is more common than I hoped. I loved seeing so many young families discovering Altadena and breathing new life into our community! Anyway, this is the 3rd time I’ve seen this home on the market over just a few years, but this is the nicest it’s ever looked! These owners just added design details that make the home more harmonious and it feels so much nicer! It still has that huge lush backyard with that inviting pool! 1990 Rose Villa St. Pasadena $2,395,000 4bd & 3ba 3,212 sq.ft 8,943 lot Open Saturday & Sunday 1-4 pm The Cal Tech neighborhood is always very sought after! This house seems well priced for everything it has to offer…..great location…..wonderful character details…..good floor plan and nicely upgraded! Like any nice character home the living room is where you fall in love! I can tell that the home was originally a large 3 bd/ 1ba home, but then at some point someone turned the 3rd bedroom into a transitional landing and staircase and added on an expansive family room. They also added 2 bedrooms upstairs….each with their own private bath.. The baths were very nicely remodeled and the primary suite is very ample! It has a very comfortable flow with lots of entertaining space! 2277 Queensberry Rd. Pasadena $1,449,000 3bd & 3ba 1,673 sq.ft 8,450 lot Open Saturday & Sunday 1-4 pm This darling traditional home packs a lot of punch for the money! It has an open flow with a dining room that flows into a den that opens to the backyard. They added on a primary suite at some point and the home has been tastefully remodeled throughout…..except for the hallway bathroom which is original, but so cute. All that makes it a very nice value, but wait….there’s more! You have a darling guest room with a bathroom behind the garage! 1538 N Holliston Ave. Pasadena $1,195,000 3bd & 2ba 1,680 sq.ft 10,470 lot Open Saturday & Sunday 2-4 pm This home has some nice potential. Although I love the fireplace in the living room, this home won’t be winning any architectural design awards. It looks like all the other architectural detailing on the inside was ripped out in the 50’s. Obviously it needs updating, but it’s a decent floorplan that has a more open flow. Now I would probably want to put in some pony walls to separate the living & dining areas….actually add a bit of formality to the space and some separation so it doesn’t feel like a bowling alley. Someone with the vision could remodel the space and add craftsman style detailing and end up with a beautiful home on a huge lot! I think it’s priced well to give you the wiggle room you will need to put money into the home. 899 N Wilson Ave. Pasadena $1,068,000 2bd & 2ba 1,191 sq.ft 5,205 lot Open Saturday & Sunday 2-4 pm This cute little condo alternative is in the ever popular neighborhood of Bungalow Heaven! Why do I call it a condo alternative??? Because it is a small house on a small lot. This cute little craftsman has a great open floor plan with nice upgrades and it has a primary suite….which is almost unheard of in a home this size! I don’t like the cheap laminate in the living areas, but that’s an easy …but not cheap…fix!
