Helloooo! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I’m grateful for having been able to share a wonderful time and a wonderful meal with all my friends & family! Despite everything that has been lost this year, it is the love of family and friends that will get us through! This week there were a few things that were worth seeing and a few more that just come on that should also be on your list to see this weekend! You know what else should be on your list this weekend? The Christmas Tree Lane Lighting Ceremony! More than ever we should come and support this long time Altadena tradition! 1215 Wentworth Ave. Pasadena $11,900,000 8bd & 8.5ba 12,000 sq.ft 48,990 lot Open Saturday & Sunday 2-4 pm It is very rare that a home like this is open to the public! Joseph J. Blick designed this Mission Revival Estate! It is 12,000 sq. ft. so make sure to give yourself enough time to absorb all the marvelous architectural detailing this home has to offer! Custom millwork made of rich Mahogany and Oak grace nearly every room of this home. I love all the arched French doors that create a seamless transition to all the outdoor spaces! I’m not a fan of all the finishes…..I would make some changes. But a magnificent home that should not be missed!!! 1345 Carnarvon Dr. Pasadena $3,495,000 2bd & 2ba 2,281 sq.ft 17,385 lot Open Saturday & Sunday, 10-2 pm When I was thinking about how I wanted my rebuilt home to look like from the front…..I pictured this house! I love the combination of the stone and the glass and the wood! Unfortunately, my lot comes with a lot of limitations so I won’t get that mid-century vibe I want on the outside, but I will do my best to create that feel on the inside! They don’t have any interior pictures but it is a lovely home with a serene setting and worth seeing in person! 500 Eldora Rd. Pasadena $1,699,000 4bd & 2.5ba 2,476 sq.ft 8,715 lot Open Saturday & Sunday, 2-4 pm Usually once you get on Eldora people are hard pressed to leave that tight knit street! Oddly enough, there have been 3 homes sold this year and another has just hit the market. If I do say so myself, this is the nicest one of the four! It is a Colonial Revival that has all the classic charm you would expect with a fairly open flow for a character home. The living room is a formal space that opens into the dining room. I love that the dining room and kitchen face the backyard…..all you need to do is install some French doors where the picture window is in the dining room and ….whala…..you have an open flow! There is a comfortable office downstairs and then 3 generous bedrooms and 2 baths upstairs, including a primary suite! The baths upstairs are a bit dated, but nothing you can’t live with for a long time! 274 W Laurel Ave. Sierra Madre $1,698,000 4bd & 3.5ba 2,510 sq.ft 12,664 lot Open Saturday & Sunday, 1-4 pm How about two homes for the price of one…..well one expensive one! The main house doesn’t have a lot of charm and the finishes are cheap, but it is 1790 sq. ft. and the lot is huge! The garage separates the two homes nicely and if you add better landscaping for more privacy that would be ideal. The back house is 720 sq. ft. with its own spacious back yard and currently rents for $3000 per month which really helps towards the mortgage payment! It’s a nice option for those who want more house than they can afford! 1320 Hastings Ranch Dr. Pasadena $1,459,999 3bd & 2ba 1,676 sq.ft 7,130 lot Open Saturday & Sunday, 11-2 pm This one just hit the market, but it seems decently priced given the size and the newer upgrades! They opened up the original floorplan to create a great room with the living room. You lose the dining area, but they make up for it with the large family room space. I like the beamed ceilings in the family room and they used very popular finishes for the upgrades. 574 N Sunnyslope Ave. Pasadena $1,198,000 3bd & 2ba 1,379 sq.ft 7,054 lot Open Saturday & Sunday, 11-1 pm The first time you can see this house is Saturday, but by the pictures it looks quite promising! The upgrades are quite dramatic and stylish….just check out that kitchen…and the owner’s furniture goes perfectly with the overall design theme of the home. The bathrooms are mostly original, but I love the art-deco feel of the tile work! I don’t see any real pictures of the bedrooms…which is odd. And even though the backyard is mostly all pool, it is surrounded by lush landscaping and there is still room for entertaining! Definitely worth seeing this weekend! 2345 El Sol Ave. Altadena $955,000 3bd & 1ba 1,078 sq.ft 8,657 lot No scheduled open houses. Please contact me for a private showing! Located on a quiet little street near JPL, sits this ranch style home! It needs updating, but has a nice open flow which could be better by incorporating the laundry room into the kitchen and then it would create a nice flow out to the enclosed sunporch and lush and private backyard. I like that there are no pictures and that the agent is already telling me that the seller is negotiable. Seems like you could get this one for a pretty attractive price!
