MY FAVORITE HOMES OF THE WEEK...AUGUST 29, 2025

Hello Everyone,

Because of the Holiday Weekend people tend to avoid listing their homes this week, so there weren’t that many homes to see yesterday. Still there were a few worth mentioning and for those of us who will be staying home this Labor Day Weekend, here is a list of homes to see that can keep you busy for a few hours!

1905 Midlothian Dr. Altadena

$4,995,000 5bd & 5ba 5,385 sq.ft 36,340 lot

Open Saturday & Sunday, 1-4 pm

Now that we are in the process of designing our new build, I find myself looking at houses differently. Looking more intently for design dos and don’ts! This home is chuck full of design dos! I remember this house from a few years back and it was a lovely house then, but it was a very formal traditional home. The transformation is quite outstanding! The living room had beamed ceilings, but now they are wrapped to give them a distressed hand hewn look. They took the ceiling in the family room and vaulted it to give it a more contemporary open feel. I liked a lot of things on the outside with the old house, but they completely revamped that too so as to keep the theme consistent. Very well done and certainly worth seeing especially if you are rebuilding so you can learn to appreciate how important design is to the overall outcome of a home. Obviously most of us don’t have this big of a budget, but if you are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on building a home, it is worth spending the money to get help on designing the finishes so that you end up with a home you love!

2120 Lambert Dr. Pasadena

$1,895,000 3bd & 2ba 2,076 sq.ft 6,947 lot

Open Saturday & Sunday, 2-4 pm

In theory this house isn’t badly priced given the upgrades…the size and the architecture…but call me old fashioned but I feel like I should get a bigger lot for that price and it really functions like a 2 bedroom house so that’s why it feels overpriced to me. Still it’s a beautiful house just dripping with curb appeal with the brick work, leaded glass and bay window! The Batchelder fireplace in the living room is beautiful and the plaster molding detailing is unique. I love how they remodeled the kitchen…..modern yet period. Same with the bathrooms. I so appreciate that they didn’t go too modern with the finishes. The main issue with the floor plan is that you have to go through a bedroom to get to a primary suite….that’s why they staged it like a den.

2100 Fox Ridge Dr. Pasadena

$1,599,000 3bd & 2.5ba 1,978 sq.ft 9,224 lot

Open Saturday & Sunday, 1-4 pm

This one just came on the market so I haven’t seen it, but it looks like a beautiful mid-century ranch! It has the batten & board siding and that solid front door with the wrought iron accents. I love that the wood paneling is not too dark or heavy….it has a more contemporary look. It even has the classic brick beehive fireplace in the family room. But again with the luxury vinyl!! This home definitely needs and deserves hardwood flooring! Still it has a lot of charm and character for a ranch and it seems very well priced for the size and condition!
