MY FAVORITE HOMES OF THE WEEK... APRIL 24, 2026

Hello Everyone,

There was a lot to see yesterday, but I only made it to the homes north of the 210 and I saw a few things I liked, but there were more homes that just hit the market that actually looked more interesting. Funny how they always look more interesting in the pictures and then when you see them in person and you get a better sense of the flow and the feel of the home…..they aren’t usually as nice as you had hoped!

Anyway…..let’s get on with my favorites for the week!

3439 Vosburg St. Pasadena

$3,600,000 4bd & 5.5ba 3,030 sq.ft 20,908 lot

Open Saturday & Sunday, 2-4 pm

I ran out of time and didn’t get a chance to see this one, but it’s a nice looking mid-century so it had to make my list! The whole point of glass in a mid-century is to create this seamless transition to the outdoor spaces…. .so the outdoor spaces better be beautiful! This home captures that feeling very well. It looks like they restored the original cabinetry in the kitchen and updated the countertops and I like that. I like that they didn’t just remodel each bathroom with the same finishes. Each one is different, but in keeping with the same theme. Of course I don’t like everything they did and that one blue bathroom with the tiny tiles makes me a little dizzy…but overall a nice job by the owners!

1450 N Michigan Ave. Pasadena

$2,399,000 4bd & 2.5ba 2,597 sq.ft 14,648 lot

Open Sunday, 2-4 pm

This home is much bigger than it seems from the outside and it feels like it’s all original spaces and nicely laid out! The living room is lovely and ample with that impressive Batchelder fireplace. I love the series of arched windows in the dining room and the kitchen is a great space with a wonderful layout. The style is a bit dated, but that can be fixed later down the line. Enclosed patios aren’t usually my favorite space, but the one in the front bedroom is exquisite! At first I thought there were only 2 bedrooms, but then towards the end of the hallway there are 2 more bedrooms around the corner including a primary suite! Now the bathroom is a bit small there and so I would be tempted to turn the adjoining bedroom into an amazing primary bath & closet since you have 4 bedrooms. The backyard is expansive and private so I’m sure this home will have no problems selling quickly!

1234 N Everett St. Glendale

$2,350,000 4bd & 3ba 2,522 sq.ft 6,733 lot

Open Saturday & Sunday, 1-4 pm

I know that I have mentioned before that most of the Spanishes in Glendale just have more pizzazz than most of the Spanishes in Pasadena…but it bears repeating! This week there are 2 striking Spanishes in Glendale that just hit the market. This Spanish home has so many beautiful details. I mean just check out the living room with the beamed ceilings, plastered fireplace and that original wrought iron light fixture over the hearth….soo cool! There are beautiful arches and niches and carved doors and stained glass throughout this house and the original art deco tile bathrooms are sweet. Surrounded by mature landscaping it feels a bit better than the second one…..but you have to see them both in person to really tell.

429 Ross St. Glendale

$1,995,000 4bd & 4ba 2,303 sq.ft 7,345 lot

Open Saturday & Sunday, 2-5 pm

This second Spanish is also quite striking! I love a front courtyard in a Spanish, especially when the living room flows out onto it like this one. The living room & dining room have beamed ceilings but they're a little more refined versus rustic. Still very pretty and of course I love the balconies off the bedrooms. On the primary suite they enclosed it to create a sitting area which is nice. I also like how they upgraded the bathrooms to feel more authentic. The only thing I don’t really like is how the backyard flows with the driveway cutting through the entire space.

1134 Bella Vista Ave. Pasadena

$1,498,000 3bd & 2ba 1,891 sq.ft 7,025 lot

Open Saturday & Sunday, 1-4 pm

This home is a very nice value for the size and the condition. I know it’s boring and the upgrades are so predictable, but it has a nice open flow with the great room in the front and then the hallway that leads straight to the back. You have 3 comfortable bedrooms and 2 bathrooms including a primary suite. The backyard is a nice size and in the end you can warm up the space with color on the walls in your decor…or throw on some wallpaper somewhere. For the front…..just get a couple of great trees to disguise the lackluster curb appeal.

1260 N Michigan Ave. Pasadena

$1,399,000 2bd & 2.5ba 1,427 sq.ft 7,427 lot

Open Saturday 1-4 pm

I saw this one and it is as nice as it looks in the pictures! It is a great Craftsman with that iconic wrap around porch! Usually I don’t care for a lot of the fireplaces in Craftsman homes, but this one is so nice with the gray brick and those tile accents. The built-in in the dining room is beautiful and they remodeled the kitchen perfectly I think for that style of home. They framed the opening and created a pony wall so that it isn’t too open and then the style of the cabinetry, the soap stone countertops, the checkered linoleum and the wedgewood stove all lend to that lovely vintage feel. The bathrooms I am more mixed about ... .they're nice but they don’t have as nice a vintage feel as the kitchen because some of the elements feel too modern ... .if you know what I mean. Still it is a beautiful home with wonderful landscaping and even though they are starting at nearly $1000/sq.ft it will go over!

239 E Pentagon St. Altadena

$1,170,000 2bd & 1.5ba 1,480 sq.ft 7,791 lot

Open Sunday 1-4 pm

So here’s another home in the burn zone. Unlike the one on Mendocino where the block is intact, this is one of the few houses left standing. I think the pricing is good for the size, but not for the bedroom count. It really is 2 bedrooms and 1 bath, with a ½ bath off the separate office space. They completely remediated and remodeled the home so I’m going to keep a close eye on this one to see where the sales price ends. I like the flow and feel of the home with the living room opening up to that big side yard, but then the backyard is very narrow. I also like the garage conversion ADU potential because the breezeway separates the garage from the house and then there is a private side yard for the garage too which lends itself to privacy between the 2 spaces!

734 E Mendocino St. Altadena

$899,000 2bd & 1ba 1,053 sq.ft 6,084 lot

Open Saturday & Sunday, 2-5 pm

This block of Mendocino is still intact after the fire and it’s a cute looking house especially for the price! This particular block is a little funny because it is close to X-mas tree lane which is so nice, but also very close to El Molino where we had a lot of rental property and condos. The section from New York to Altadena Drive from Lake to El Molino was really the only pocket of income property in Altadena…so I’m curious to see how this pocket actually gets redeveloped. Still the house is cute and cheap and would have sold for a million easily before the fire.
